Just got off the phone with Jaylene in sunny San Diego. They arrived last night and she has been with Gary quite a bit since. They tried to take him off the ventilator, by reducing his air, so his body would respond, but his heartrate went up, so he was back on it along with more morphine.. Jaylene said he was looking around and was totally aware when they arrived. He could sqeeze her hand when asked questions and he sqeezed it hard when asked if he wanted to hear some “Big Kaweah” music, tapping his foot around. The Doctors did all tests to make sure he could move his legs and arms and understand things and he can. Jaylene and Scott will probably be there through the weekend, and Garys son Todd will be there Friday as will Paul again. Its 50-50, but his odds were a lot worse a few days ago.
