I just talked with Gary about his pending departure. Its probably not happening today. He is still getting water in his lung and that has to stop before he gets to leave. Lots of years smoking has made the lung walls soft and venerable. They couldn’t operate on his lungs due to this. He had his stitches from his operation removed this morning and sounded pretty upbeat really. Its looking like maybe Sunday is the day that he gets to be in the air above San Diego, headed for San Francisco with his seatbelt on and his 10 salted smoked almonds ready to go on the tray in front of him.
