Morning Startup..........

Here's a picture from my commute today, Monday, Dec. 28..8.30am the last Monday of 09I'm driving the speed limit around the lake on the way up to Three Rivers to work. Its crystal clear and cool.I grab a sip from my coffee and a bite from my cut in half PBJ, heavy on the bosenberry jelly, reached over and changed the radio station and checked my cellphone for messages and decided to get out my camera for some pics..........all this while driving like I said.

Art Explaination......

Hello, Well the Holidays are all around us. You can't go anywhere or listen or see anything that's not about the Holidays. There in every room now.
I've been putting up lots of old pictures lately, most from around 2002. I guess thats when I got my first digital camera and the Drum Circle persona were first on my list of catching life in its most interesting ways. But, Dude the pictures of the Drum Circle are blurry!! And, some of them still are today! Well, Please let me explain why that is. I really hate using a Flash. I hate the way evevrybody looks and the way it just washes everything. I love the long shutter. The camera staying open and catching as much light as there is before it closes and makes a picture. At night there is not much light around where we drum. We make the fire bigger for pictures but still people move around when there's a big groove going, so blurry is a form of the body in motion. It catches the moment I see better than anything else does. It makes us ageless. And, as a bonus, it turns into paintings. Art in a life form. These last few pictures I found are good blurries and were from one of our big and famous Halloween Parties, this was 2004.............

A Trip into the Depths of Sequoia.................

Here's some pictures from last weeks Caving adventure. It started with a small hole to crawl into, which had a big double locked and heavy stainless steel plate that had to be removed. Then hooking to ropes and sliding down around 100' into the darkest unknown of the "Ursa Minor" cave. One of the newest cave's in Sequoia and very untouched by but a few. The cave is named after the Bear Bones found deep inside. These bones are quite a mystery as there's no way the bear could have come in the way we did and there's no other way out.........at least of where exploration has gone so far.

Beautiful jeweled rooms the size of big houses with cave formations that you rarely see such as the 6' long soda straws. I considered myself very lucky to make this trip as we hiked out 3 miles of uphill through deep, cold as steel and now dark forest to the welcome car...............Life is good for this drumcircle dude...........................

I would like to have a drumming at my Mom's home in Visalia tonite, Friday the 20th of November. My Mom is on Hospice comfort care at a Convalescent home right around the corner from her home. I fell moved to drum for my Mom and would love it if you would join me.
I have talked to a few of you on the phone and it sounds like we should create a great drumming party, so please come. Bring food or drink if you like.

Its a New River...............

Moving through the Season..............

Fall is moving in, coming with all its subtleties, still warm with cool strecthes which are getting alittle longer each time. Still need rain though. After the big river flood, well, that's been it. The colors of the leaves in the trees are telling us the news everyday.....Fall.
Our performance at the Halloween Carnival went off without a hitch. That was good news too because we did end up being one of the main acts and we wooooed em for sure. With all the fire being spun and the lights being low it really was a pretty good show.........Thanks to all of you who joined us. Seems like alot of other things are going on too. We've been steady with the fire at drum circle these past Sunday nites. Donations of wood have been coming in steadily....Thanks to you the donaters. Jon's been coming early every Sunday to clean the circle and start the fire. Big Thanks for that! Lots of things have to happen to have a good Drum Circle. Lots of people have told us that we 're so different from other circles. We groove of course, but its more than that, we have made it the most special occassion of the week, and its all that little stuff that gets done by somebody that makes us who we are as a Drum Group.................Thanks for all the support.

Come join us tonite at the Three Rivers Halloween Carnival. We're playing from 7 till 8 and from 7 till 7.30 we're backing up the fire spinning group. After its just us and any dancers. Drumming Gig this Saturday...................

Hello Friends, I've been going video crazy here and now I"m taking alittle break and getting ready for the big weekend. We've got a gig...........The Drum Circle is playing at the Three Rivers Halloween Carnival this coming Saturday night. We're playing background for the fire spinners....."Fire Raqs". There's six of them and who knows who will be there drumming for us. We're hoping to have a good showing of drummers so get on over. Here's the latest news and its new since Sunday.............................We're playing from 7 till 8. The fire dancers will be doing their thing from 7 till 7.30......then we play till 8. Come early to help us...........................I"ll try and put one more entry on here before the weekend and Yea...........well make plans to join us ....Please................

Some of you know that this event gets alot of attendance and by the looks of things, we should steal the show................................

The Kaweah Floods...................and Rages!

When I left work yesterday it was raining and I checked the river flow...it was 40 cfs ( Cubic feet per second) This morning after it rained all night I checked it before work and the Kaweah River was runing at flood stage.....21,000 cfs !!!!!!!!! Major river runing through the town of Three Rivers and into the lake. It hasn' raged this crazy since Nov. of 2002. Today was historical. Here is some video I shot this morning going to work from the Gateway Bridge......................

Well, here it is. I finally cracked the code. It took a new camera and a y-tube account. Let me know how it works on your side if you would. Its not done till I hear from you about how we sound and how the picture looks.

We're waiting for the big storm to come in here. Lots of rain and some snow, the start of our El Nino so I hear. We're also winding down the fire season. Still some fires going and its not over till its officially over. Hope your doing well..........
